France West Coast - Calais to Avranches

The Cathedral is amazing as we expected and is so tall that you can't get far enough back to get it all in the photo. It is right in the heart of the city and buildings surround it. The buildinmg was started in the 11th century in the Norman style but following various destructions it was finished in the 13th century as a Gothic Cathedral. Parts of it still date back to the 12th century and over time various additions and restorations have occurred.
